Sinaya Cup, represented by founder and CEO Audrey Tangonan, recently made it to Lift Women Group’s Top 10 Women-Led Businesses in Asia and Pacific.
This recognition came with an opportunity of a lifetime—our participation in the Lift Women Asia Pacific Grant Pitch Night, which was held in Melbourne, Australia, on March 27.
Tens of thousands of cash prizes (in Australian dollars) were up for grabs during the said contest. While we were not able to bag an award that day, we still made history by representing the Philippines and introducing our social enterprise on the international stage.
Audrey did a great job presenting our project—the newly designed Sinaya Cup—as well as our crowdfunding campaign to the audience.
Launched on March 27, the said campaign will run until May 30 with the goal of raising AU$ 20,000 (over PHP 700,000), an amount we will add to our funds as we set up the production of the new Sinaya Cup.
Backers of our crowdfunding campaign have the opportunity not only to become the first individuals to get the new Sinaya Cup but also to donate menstrual cups and fund the period and reproductive care education of women and girls in need via the CUPacity Program.
Any support for this program, formerly known as CUPacity Caravan, means a lot to us, especially since we are aiming to reach more beneficiaries starting this year.
As you may have already known, we have been offering this program to public high schools in the Philippines for years.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, prompting the closure of schools, we adapted by organizing meaningful online events and working with organizations and communities from different parts of the country. Among these groups was the D&G Kamavvaksan Association from Batanes.
We also held a Mini-CUPacity Program last year in partnership with WWF Philippines.
Condensing the four-day program to a single-day event was not easy, but it proved our tenacity as a social enterprise. And we’re proud to share that as of April 2024, we have already achieved the following:
Moreover, this proves our preparedness for greater challenges—something we are anticipating as we set more ambitious goals this year.

If we are to accelerate the growth of Sinaya Cup acceptance, we must pursue bolder strategies and enlist more key partners to our mission. As a climate-impact enterprise, our organization plays a key role in reducing emissions. We must take Sinaya Cup’s growth as more than an economic benefit. It’s our duty for women’s welfare and environmental sustainability.
